Jaime Hernández es una fuente de información eterna. Siempre profesional, educado con mucho orgullo y emocion. Este es el mejor tour que he tomado de un guía Mexicano y bilingue (inglés-español). Jaime nos llevó a lugares increíbles y todo el mundo lo conoce y lo respeta. En verdad nos hicimos amigos y sus atenciones fueron exceptionales. Hasta me llevó al médico cuando no me sentía bien. Hice el tour de Día de Muertos y otro del centro histórico de Pátzcuaro y siempre me sentí segura, bien cuidada, sobre todo que fuí sola. Luego todo empezó a tiempo, y el transporte muy limpio y seguro también. Jaime merece un premio por destacar lo bonito de Michoacán y sobre todo Pátzcuaro.

Esta fue nuestra cuarta gira con Jaime. Cada tour es lo más destacado de todo nuestro tiempo en México. Este año tuvimos dos familias, con tres niños, en la gira. Jaime nos contó historias de historia en el autobús que fueron cautivadoras y simplificadas para nuestro público. . luego nos llevó a ver cómo estas historias juegan en la cultura y la vida diaria. Visitamos familias que son artesanos y artesanas. Parece que Jaime conoce gente en cada pueblo. Llama a la puerta de una familia y nos introducen en la magia. En este viaje llegamos a hacer papel con una hermosa familia local y pintar máscaras con otra. Nos sentimos incluidos en la cultura. Es una experiencia rica que recomiendo encarecidamente. Jaime es profesional y tranquilo y divertido y tan fácil de estar con.

Jaime Hernández Balderas es el mejor guía de la HISTORIA. ¡En serio! Historiador y oriundo de Pátzcuaro, tiene una curiosidad sin fin sobre México, sus pueblos indígenas, artesanos locales, tradiciones y religión. Pasamos dos días esta vez (y un día hace cinco años) viajando por el área de Pátzcuaro, y una vez más, nuestro tiempo con él fue lo más destacado de nuestro viaje. Su inglés es perfecto, su narración trae la historia a la vida con sensibilidad y humor, y es un ser humano maravilloso para empezar. Él puede adaptar un tour a sus intereses, por supuesto (prácticamente en cualquier lugar de México), pero nos pareció que lo mejor era simplemente darle las riendas y dejarlo liderar el camino. Aparentemente conoce a todos en la zona, y todos parecen conocerlo y respetarlo. Además, sabe dónde están las mejores carnitas. Hazte un favor y reserva un viaje con él, ya sea una persona o un grupo. Simplemente no puedes equivocarte. ¡No podemos esperar nuestra próxima aventura con él!

Pareja. Visiting Patzcuaro was fantastic, what an incredible place.
We hired Jaime to take us off the beaten path, and with Jaime the real adventure began. He took us around the lake to the small villages, we met incredible artists, saw temple ruins, up into the deep forest hill towns to a unique artisan market, all the while he introduced us to the beautiful and complicated history of the region.
Jaime’s historical and cultural knowledge is what made him and our time together so special and interesting. We booked him for 2 tours! We highly recommend him, and plan to go back for more….

Jaime is an excellent informative guide. We took a 6 hour tour stopping at multiple sites around Lake Pátzcuaro and learned something new every minute. His comfortable van was perfect for the adventure. His tour is highly recommended.

We did a walking tour around Patzcuaro with Jaime as well as a driving tour of some neighboring villages and local archaeological sites in the area. His vast knowledge of the history and the surrounding area was impressive and his warm and welcoming personality a delight. If you are going to be in the area you don’t want to miss out on this rich experience!

All Day Tour of Lake Patzcuaro Villages
I often travel alone with specific goals about people and things to see and to photograph. Such was the case in June 2019 when I visited Patzcuaro and based my excursions from the Hotel Casa Encantada on Dr. Coss. It was through the HCE that I was informed of the guide Jaime Hernandez, who is the person that led me around to various people and places I wished to see. The tour was great, prepared to bring me to the things I told him I was interested in beforehand. But I would rather describe the person who led it, since it was his experience and knowledge that made it possible.
Jaime Hernandez is not a typical ‘tour guide’. He is a historian and cultural expert. He grew up in Michoacan as a native of Patzcuaro, but has also traveled to the US and Canada with the goal of learning English, which he now speaks fluently. He continues his education even now by taking courses and seminars of months duration that allow him to be more informed about the areas where he brings people, and to present accurate information about events dating as far back as pre-Conquest times. He has a sincere, easy-going manner, and I was totally at ease during the six hours we spent together visiting pueblos around the lake.
Although based out of Michoacan, Jaime conducts tours throughout Mexico, He already has an amazing amount of knowledge on Mexico in general,
If I were going to bring down groups to Mexico, or family and friends, Jaime would be the first person I would solicit to guide them.

Jaime took us on a tour of some of the villages surrounding the lake. We had an amazing day visiting different craft people. Their artwork was beautiful and so imaginative. It was so interesting to see, and without Jaime we would never have found these places. He was so knowledgeable about the area and all its history, very patient with all the questions we asked him and he took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch. He will tailor your day to exactly how you want, We were with him for seven hours and would happily have done another day if we had the time. We would thoroughly recommend him.

The value of a great tour guide
Jaime Hernández knows the Lake Pátzcuaro area, the state of Michoacán, and Mexico … the history, culture, art, food, and peoples. I’ve had two tours with him and have learned more than I ever could have from Google and a dozen history books. He is passionate, always learning and happy to tailor the tour to your interests. Amazing!! So worth it!!
I wanted to record every word Jaime spoke! I learned so much about ancient to current Mexico history…with knowledge and a great sense of humor! We toured the villages around Lake Patzcuaro…amazing to meet these great artists and learn about the culture. My mind is blown and I can’t wait to return and learn/ experience more. Jaime is the guide of guides…I just wanted to refer to him as Professor, he has my utmost respect! And he made sure we all laughed and had fun. Do it!

Carla Buchanan.We returned from our brief foray into the magnificent state of Michoacan on Thursday evening. No photos could possibly convey the beauty of the countryside, nor the warmth of the people. You hear so much negativity aimed at this area, but not for a nano-second did we feel uncomfortable or threatened walking alone on the streets of Patzcuaro. If you have thought about a visit to Mexico, I would highly recommend the highlands of Michoacan and our guide Jaime . He is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide who brings the history of Mexico alive.
